Ambassador Ganeson Sivagurunathan attended the commemorative ceremony of the 82nd Anniversary of the Chilean Air Force on 21 March 2012. The ceremony which was officiated by the Vice President of Chile, Rodrigo Hinzpeter Kirberg was attended by members of the diplomatic corps and the defence attaches from the foreign missions in Santiago.
The address by the Commander of the Chilean Air Force, General Jorge Rojas Avila was followed by the parade. The parade began with the fly thru by the High Acrobatics Hawks Squad with its traditional tricolour trail followed by the T-35 aircrafts, C-130 Hercules, the KC-135 refuelling aircraft, Bell-412, UH-1h and B-206 helicopters and F-16s. The parade of the different units in the air garrison, Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment and Special Forces Unit and missile and commands and Motorised Battalion Air Defence was accompanied band of the Aviation School, Banda de Guerra and Instrumentation Speciality School bands.
