The Embassy today welcomed a new member to the family. Ms. Anil Fahriza Adenan reported her duty as Second Secretary at the Embassy on 1 June 2007. This is her first overseas assignment. She arrived in the midst of the cold autumn of Chile but was given a warm welcome by the Embassy staff.
Ms. Anil Adenan paid a courtesy call on Ambassador H.E. Abdullah Faiz Zain. During the two hours meeting, the Ambassador congratulated Ms. Anil Adenan on her assignment to Santiago and briefed her on the objectives as well as the work of the Embassy. In addition, he encouraged her to learn Spanish as not only it would be an asset to her career, but it is also a prerequisite skill to be acquired by diplomats working in Spanish speaking countries such as Chile. The Ambassador also imparted his experience to her on becoming a young diplomat in this challenging era.
Ms. Anil Adenan expresed her readiness and enthusiam to work with the Embassy and hoped that she would be able to assist the Embassy in further strengthening the relations between Malaysia and Chile. Her first assignment given by the Ambassador was to improve the Embassy's webpage and to ensure that the website be updated from time to time.
Before joining the Embassy, Ms. Anil Adenan was attached as Assistant Secretary to various divisions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia including NAM Secretariat and Regional Cooperation, Social and Culture Division.
Prior to joining the Administrative and Diplomatic Service in 2003, Ms. Anil Adenan worked as a Software Engineer with an IT company in Sarawak, Malaysia. After working in private sector for four years, she decided to take up the challenge with working in Government sector, in particular the Foreign Service and never looked back since then.
Ms. Anil Adenan graduated from Tulane University, Louisiana where she completed her Bachelor?s Degree of Science in Computer Information System.
Ms. Anil Adenan was born on 13 November 1977 in Sarawak, Malaysia. She is married to Mr. Azman Mustafa.
