First International Encounter of Asia Pacific Markets, Concepcion, Chile
1-2 October 2008
While Malaysia and Muslims all over the world celebrate Aidil Fitri, the Embassy of Malaysia in Santiago participated in the First International Encounter of Asia Pacific Markets held in Concepcion on 1 and 2 October 2008.
The Seminar was organized by DuocUC Professional Institute, within the framework of its 40th anniversary and collaboration with Universidad Católica de la Santisima Concepcion. The objective of the event was to provide an exchange platform for Asia Pacific countries and trade-investment promotion agencies and businesses in the region of Concepcion. Concepcion is the second largest city in Chile after its capital city, Santiago.
The event housed more than 30 booths including representatives from governmental and non governmental bodies, local and international enterprises. Embassies that participated in the two-day event including Malaysia were China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Russia and Vietnam. Malaysia was the only embassy represented at the highest level.
On the first day of the seminar, H.E. Ambassador Abdullah Faiz Zain gave a half an hour power-point presentation on Malaysia and its education opportunities.
