Malaysia, A Path to Follow
The experience of having participated this year in the program 'Managing the E University', developed at the Multimedia University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is something that I can't stop thanking the Government of Malaysia, being benefited as a MTCP fellow.
The first thing I received as a visitor in Malaysia was that feeling of welcome, of warmth, affection and concern for making my stay an unforgettable experience.
Approaching icons of the development, organization and planning, such as the Petronas Towers, Cyberjaya, Putrajaya, realize a culture that manages to preserve the values of harmony, happiness and peace, with the achievement of objectives through demanding parameters, coming from areas such as technology, business, planning and the government.
In that sense, the days spent in Malaysia, becoming familiar of how to manage an educational institution, and taking it to parameters of global excellence, learning that the path of stringency, compliance, planning and proper execution will lead to Malaysia and its citizens to maintain that harmony, peace and happiness through the ages, improving at the same time, cross indicators, but not central in cultural terms, as is economic development based on indicators clearly associated with per capita income or economic growth, among others.
From my perspective, apart from the technical learning, of which I am infinitely grateful, for me it was very impressive to know about value, social and cultural learning. Meet leaders like Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, the architect of the rapprochement between Chile and Malaysia, and the fast development achieved by Malaysia under his leadership, to know the current accomplishments, and the possibility that these achievements come gradually close to the entire population, leave me the feeling that, in our case, the task can be accomplished ... ... Nothing else needed to calibrate the proper planning to execution, so at the end of the day, live a little more in harmony and peace with the world and with ourselves??..
