Mou Signing Ceremony between Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and Catholic University of Concepcion, Chile
Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and Catholic University of Concepcion (Universidad Catolica de la Santisima Concepcion- UCSC) signed a Memorandum of Agreement at the headquarters of UCSC in Concepción, Chile, late afternoon today, 1 December 2008.
The MoU between UMT and UCSC was signed by Prof. Dato' Dr. Sulaiman Md Yassin, Vice Chancellor of UMT and Dr. Juan Miguel Cancino Cancino, Vice-Chancellor of UCSC. The signing of this agreement was witnessed by His Excellency Abdullah Faiz Zain, Ambassador of Malaysia in Chile.
This Agreement provides the platform and channels of communications between both universities for exchange of views, knowledge and information as well as to promote greater joint-research in the fields of mutual interest.
The other main objective of the Agreement is to encourage interchange of students and faculty members. Each year, the Universities may exchange a maximum of four (4) full-time undergraduate students for a semester or an academic year of study.
The conclusion of this Agreement will encourage academic relations between the two universities, in particular, and further strengthens the bilateral relations between Malaysia and Chile in the field of education, social and cultural affairs.
