As of Thursday, January 7 at 05:00 am, all those who enter Chile, both nationals, residents and foreigners, must board with a negative PCR test (nasopharyngeal or saliva) carried out by an institution validated by the Ministry of Health or authority health of the country in which you are.
1.- Who can enter Chile?
From November 23 at 00:00 , the border of the Santiago Airport (Arturo Merino Benítez Airport) will open, allowing the entry of foreigners, complying with strict sanitary measures.
2.- Can foreigners enter by other means, be it airports, land passages or sea way?
In this first stage, only foreigners are allowed to enter through the Pudahuel Airport, it is not authorized by other airports or land crossings or by sea.
3.- What health requirements must FOREIGNERS who enter and remain in Chile meet?
They must comply with the following measures
Negative PCR test taken 72hrs. before boarding
Complete the International Health Passport (www.c19.cl).
Complete the follow-up form for 14 days (you will receive it via email)
Have contracted health insurance that covers benefits associated with COVID-19 during your stay.
Quarantine for 10 days or quarantine and carry out a PCR test on the 7th day and quarantine until delivery of the result. If it is negative, you can shorten your quarantine.
4.- What health requirements must CHILEANS OR FOREIGN RESIDENTS who return to Chile meet?
Negative PCR test taken 72hrs. before boarding.
Quarantine for 10 days.
Perform quarantine and carry out a PCR test on the 7th day and perform quarantine until delivery of the result. If it is negative, you can shorten your quarantine.

5.-What is the insurance requested?
Foreigners who enter the country must have health insurance, contracted in their country of origin and that provides coverage for international medical care in the case of contracting COVID19 in our country. The above is always recommended regardless of the pandemic, since it allows to pay for the expenses that may be generated in the event of an accident or illness.
6.- Should everyone who enters the country have a negative CRP, including children?
Infants under 2 years of age are excluded from the obligation to have a CRP.
7.- Where can I verify if my country of origin has community transmission?

8.-How is the mandatory Epidemiological Monitoring carried out?
Upon arrival in Chile, for 14 days you will receive a daily email with a survey on health status and location.
- You must open the auto report by clicking on the only link contained in the email.
- Fill in your contact address. If you are no longer at the same address as the day before, please include the exact address. Remember that it is part of an affidavit.
- Complete your health status data. Click on each symptom you have. If you have no symptoms, check the "None" option.
- Complete all the fields and send.
9.- How many days does the Epidemiological Follow-up last?
It lasts from 14 days from arrival. From Chile. A reminder will be sent three times each day to complete the self-report.
10.-What happens if one day I have symptoms?
You must enter them in your report and isolate yourself immediately. SEREMI de Salud RM staff will contact you.
11.-What is the amount of health insurance required for foreigners?
The minimum amount of health benefits must be USD $ 30,000 United States dollars and with coverage for emergency medical assistance, hospital care, repatriation for medical reasons or death, including coverage for any expense caused by COVID19
12.- I am Chilean, but I have been living in another country for years, should I also take out health insurance?
You will not be obliged to contract travel medical insurance, however the recommendation is that you evaluate hiring one, since in the case of contracting COVID19 or any illness or accident, you will have health coverage. Otherwise, you must cancel the benefits to which you must be subjected in a particular way.
13.-How long must the PCR test be submitted by foreigners?
The sampling should not exceed 72 hours from the shipment to the ship, aircraft or means of transport (remember that the result must be negative).
14.-What happens with the deadline if the trip makes stopovers to get to Chile?
If from the point of origin to the Chilean territory contemplates the use of several means of transport, the indicated 72 hours will be counted from the shipment to the last of these.
15.-What happens if my destination is a region other than the Metropolitan Region, where the airport is located?
Travelers with a destination other than the region of entry may continue their trip during the first 24 hours after entering the country.
16.- By what means should I carry out this interregional transfer?
In any public or private transport, trying to comply with all sanitary measures, such as the use of a mask and hand washing with an alcoholic solution, among others.
17.-How far in advance or how long do I have to complete the form with the affidavit of my current state of health?
You must request the health passport with your sworn statement of your health status from the site www.c19.cl up to 48 hours before boarding the aircraft to which you enter the national territory.
18.-What will happen from January 7, 2021?
From January 7, all people (Chileans, residents or foreigners) who enter must have all these requirements before boarding:
Negative PCR test taken 72hrs. before boarding
Complete the International Health Passport (www.c19.cl).
Complete the follow-up form for 14 days (via email)
Have contracted health insurance that covers benefits associated with COVID-19 during your stay.
They must quarantine for 10 days (requirement from December 31).
19.-If I arrive in Chile from a country with community transmission, can I return to my country before 14 days of quarantine?
There is no problem if your stay is for a period of less than 14 days, but you must still remain in quarantine, without leaving. On the day of the flight, you must go to the airport complying with all the protection measures, such as the use of a mask and hand washing.
20.-Once the quarantine is completed, can you transfer me to any city in Chile at any time?
Chile created the Step by Step plan , We take care of ourselves , where each week the communes advance or recede from phase according to epidemiological and sanitary criteria. Those communes that are in Step 1 of Quarantine or Step 2 of Transition, have their mobility restricted all or some days of the week. Tourists will not be able to transit in the communes of Step 1 and must evaluate if they can do so in the communes in Step 2. They
can transit and move through the communes that are in step 3 and 4, complying with the national mandatory sanitary measures that are required at every step.
In relation to the schedule, in our country there is a "curfew" measure, which implies that from that time on it is not possible to walk on the street without a pass or in case of an emergency.

21.- What is the entry ban for foreigners who have been in the United Kingdom in the last 14 days?
Suspension of direct flights between the United Kingdom and Chile.
Entry ban for all REGULARLY NON-RESIDENT FOREIGNERS who have been in the UK in the last 14 days.
22.- If I am a Chilean or a foreign resident, can I enter Chile if I was in the United Kingdom in the last 14 days?
Yes, they will be able to enter with the following caveats
If you have been in the United Kingdom in the last 14 days (this is from December 6 onwards), you must perform a mandatory 14-day quarantine, regardless of having a negative PCR result .

These measures take effect from 00: 50hrs. of Thursday, January 7, 2021 and will be transitory
23.-In the case of being Chilean or having a Chilean residence, should I also bring negative PCR just like foreigners?
Yes, as a temporary measure, all those who arrive in Chile as of Thursday, January 7, 2021 (regardless of their nationality or residence), must present a negative PCR test.
24.- How should the result of the PCR test be presented or attached?
The certificate of the result of this examination must be attached as a document attached to the international health passport, which can be requested on the website www.c19.cl
25.- Can I board my return flight without a negative PCR test result?
No, the company that carries out the transfer of the passenger is responsible for demanding the presentation of the PCR Test with a negative result when boarding to national territory
26.-If I am Chilean or a Chilean resident and in the foreign place where I am, there is no feasibility of undergoing the PCR test requested for return, or the delivery period would not allow me to comply with 72 hours. Is there an alternative to not meeting this negative PCR requirement?
It may be exempted from the collection and shipment with a negative PCR test result for SARS-CoV-2 in the country where the person of Chilean nationality or resident in Chile who has an authorization for that from the Health SEREMI is located. Said authorization will be granted by electronic means upon request of the interested party to the corresponding Chilean Consul of the country where he is, who will refer it to the Health SEREMI in case, in the opinion of the Consul, there are plausible reasons that lead to presume that country in question is not possible access to perform a PCR test for SARS-CoV-2.
Whoever obtains the authorization must also comply with the quarantine in a health residence arranged for said purposes. In these cases, the costs of the stay in the sanitary residence will be in charge of the person who made the request.
27.- What happens if a Chilean or a Chilean resident enters Chile anyway without a negative PCR test?
Those who fail to comply with the provisions will be sanctioned according to Book X of the Sanitary Code and must comply with a quarantine in a sanitary residence arranged for such purposes. In these cases, the costs of the stay in the sanitary residence will be the responsibility of the offender.
28.- What happens if a foreigner enters Chile anyway without a negative PCR test?
The Health SEREMI may deny entry to foreigners who enter without a negative PCR TEST. In this case, it will be the responsibility of the airline that carried out the transfer of the passenger to return him to his country of origin.
29.-Given that upon arrival I will have to quarantine, in what way should I justify those days in my work?
In this case, you should evaluate it with your employer.
30.- Does the Health SEREMI not generate or grant health licenses to travelers for this reason?
No, the SEREMI de Salud does not generate or grant medical licenses for travelers.
31.- What type of PCR test should it be?
This may be a saliva or nasopharyngeal PCR test. In both cases, must it be carried out by an institution validated by the Ministry of Health or the highest health authority of the country in which it is located?
32.- Does the IgG / IgM antibody test or test in venous blood replace the PCR test?
No, only the PCR test is valid, whether it is nasopharyngeal or saliva.
