Will Labour relationships change? ICARE Roundtable Breakfast Meeting today(Tuesday, 24/5/2016),

 

Experts from the judiciary and private spheres discussed aspects of the Labour relationships in Chile from different perspectives. Héctor Humeres, Lawyer and Master in Labour Law of Universidad de Chile, discussed the state of the Labour reform and the current climate of uncertainty in Labour Law; Álvaro Flores, Labour Judge, broached the subject of Labour Courts and their role as ...impartial agents in controversies between employers and employees. From a human resources perspective, Georgeanne Barceló, Vice-president of Human Resources of Komatsu, highlighted the importance of collaboration and trust between employers and employees to generate a sustainable productivity that is in accordance with the ethics of the new generation of workers. Finally, Claudio Muñoz, President of Telefónica presented the challenges posed by the technologic revolution and the importance to counterweight the negative effects of technology, i.e. replacement of a portion of human work forces by new technologies, with innovation tools that create new jobs.
