REGISTRATION OF BIRTH

Application has to be made in person by the parents and the child at:

   Office Hours : Monday-Friday 9.00 am - 1.00 pm & 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm

REQUIREMENTS OF BIRTH REGISTRATION

FOR CHILD BORN OVERSEAS

[A]         Effected from June 2010, child born in overseas can be a Malaysian if either parents (father or mother) is a Malaysian Citizen, and request to present at the Embassy of Malaysia in Beijing within one (1) year since the date of birth;

[B]         If the father of the child is a Malaysian Citizen, the Birth Certificate “Borang H” will be proceeding from the Embassy of Malaysia in Beijing;

[C]         If the mother of the child is a Malaysian Citizen, the application of citizenship will send and processed at the National Registration Department (Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara Malaysia) in Malaysia, and approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs Malaysia;

[D]         The applicants need to present with the application at the Embassy of Malaysia in person;

[E]         Kindly bring along all the original documents and to provide two (2) photocopies of each document;

Requirements:

1. Application form “Borang D” – available at the Embassy of Malaysia in Beijing (if the father is a Malaysian Citizen);
2. Application form “Borang B”, Lampiran A.15(2) and Lampiran A-WN – available at the Embassy of Malaysia in Beijing (if the mother is a Malaysian Citizen);
3. Original Child Birth Certificate (from the hospital);
4. Notarial Child Birth Certificate (to be endorsed by the Foreign Affairs Office of issued and the Embassy of Malaysia in Beijing);
5. Marriage Certificate issued by the Government of Malaysia;
6. Parents’ Identity card and Passport;
7. Two (2) copies of photograph in white background (if the mother Malaysian and child);
8. Fees of RMB88.00 (cash) (for Borang D and Borang W); and
9. Fees of RMB 44.00 (cash) (for Borang B).

REQUIREMENTS FOR MARRIAGE REGISTRATION

[A]       Application for marriage registration (Daftar Perkahwinan KC07) with the Embassy of Malaysia in Beijing to apply within six (6) months from the date of marriage was registered under local laws in the People’s Republic of China.

[B]       A PENALTY will be imposed for late registration after six (6) months registered under local laws. The fees are as follows:

              a)         First year after six (6) months   :           RM100.00; and

              b)         After each following year          :           RM50.00.

[C]       Kindly bring along all the original documents and to provide two (2) photocopies of each document. The supporting documents are as follows:

1.         Application form (KC06) available at the Embassy of Malaysia in Beijing;

2.         Marriage Certificate issued by the local Marriage Registration Bureau;

3.         To notarize the Marriage Certificate in bilingual and to be endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Office of the Province and the Embassy of Malaysia in Beijing;

4.         Birth Certificate for Malaysian and Household Registration Certificate (attested by Respective Foreign Affairs Office) for PRC citizen.

5.         Applicant Passport (husband and wife);

6.         Applicant Identity Card (husband and wife);

7.         Two (2) photographs of each applicant (white background); and

8.         Fees of RMB44.00 in cash.
