REGISTRATION OF BIRTH

Please be advised that both parents and newborn child MUST be present at the Consulate General of Malaysia to register the birth of your newborn child within one (1) year. Failure to do so will result in delay in processing and your case will have to be referred to National Registration Department of Malaysia for approval. A letter from the father explaining the reason for the delay in registering is required. Please kindly note that for registration of birth of child above one (1) year old, the Consulate General cannot issue the Birth Certificate “Borang H”.

 

Application has to be made in person by the parents and the child at:

REQUIREMENTS FOR BIRTH REGISTRATION

 

[A]

With effect from June 2010, children born overseas can be registered as Malaysians if either parent (father or mother) is a Malaysian Citizen, and the application must be submitted within one (1) year from the date of birth;

[B]

If father of the child is a Malaysian Citizen, the Birth Certificate “Borang H” will be issued by the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou;

[C]

 

If mother of the child is a Malaysian Citizen, the application of citizenship will be sent and processed at the National Registration Department of Malaysia and approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs Malaysia;

[D]

Both parents and child must be present at the Consulate General during the application. Kindly bring along all original documents and provide two (2) photocopies of each documents as follows:

Application form “Borang D” - available at the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou (if father is a Malaysian Citizen);

[2]

Application form “Borang B” and “Lampiran A.15(2)” - available at the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou (if mother is a Malaysian Citizen);

[3]

Original Child Birth Certificate (from hospital);

[4]

Notarial Child Birth Certificate in bilingual, need to be endorsed by Foreign Affairs Office of the Province and the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou;

[5]

Marriage Certificate issued by the Government of Malaysia;

[6]

Parents’ Identity card and Passport;

[7]

Parents’ Birth Certificate in bilingual, need to be endorsed by Foreign Affairs Office of the Province and the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou (Parents’ Birth Certificate that issued by the Government of Malaysia no need Notarial);

[8]

Two (2) copies of passport size photographs in white background (if mother Malaysian and child); and

[9]

Fees of RMB44.00 (cash) - for each form

 

REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGE

 

To register marriage - please make sure all required documents are complete and make an appointment in advance.

 

You are advised to register your marriage within the first six months or it will be considered as late registration and there will be a penalty fee imposed. You and your spouse are required to come in person to register your marriage at:

REQUIREMENTS FOR MARRIAGE REGISTRATION

 

[A]

Application for re-registration of marriage (Daftar Perkahwinan KC 07) with the Consulate General must to be made within six (6) months from the date the marriage was registered under local laws in China.

[B]

A PENALTY will be imposed for registration after the 6 months period. The rates are as follows:

            a)         First year after 6 months        :           RMB220.00

            b)         Each following year                :           RMB110.00

[C]

 

Kindly bring along all the original documents and provide two (2) photocopies of each documents:

[1]

Application form “Borang KC 06” - available at the Consulate General;

[2]

Marriage Certificate issued by the local Marriage Registration Bureau;

[3]

Applicant Notarial Marriage Certificate in bilingual, need to be endorsed by Foreign Affairs Office of the Province and the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou;

[4]

Applicant Passport;

[5]

Applicant Identity Card;

[6]

Two (2) photographs of each applicant (blue background);

[7]

Fees of RMB44.00 (cash)
