MALAYSIAN PASSPORT RENEWAL

 

Visa Section of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou accepts Malaysian Passport renewal application. These facilities are only applicable to those Malaysian who hold long term pass (permanent resident/ employment/ student/ dependent) in China.

 

Malaysian in China can also apply via MyOnline Passport (https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/eservices/myPasport?passportPMA) beginning 1st January 2023.

 

For over-the-counter applications, kindly prepare all these documents below in two (2) sets:

 

1.

Photocopy of current passport (all pages including blank pages and cover)

2.

Adults (18 years and above)                 : Photocopy of MYKAD

Children (below 12 years)                     : Photocopy of Borang H/ Borang W / Birth

                                                               Certificate / MYKID

Children (above 12 & below 16 years) : Photocopy of Borang H/ Borang W / Birth

                                                               Certificate / MYKAD or MYKID

Children (above 17 & below 18 years) : Photocopy of Borang H/ Borang W / Birth

                                                               Certificate / MYKAD

 

*MKAD & MYKID photocopy front and back in an A4 size paper

*Kids with Borang H / W please bring along Chinese/Foreign Birth Certificate

Three (3) passport size photograph with white background. 

Size specification as the attached photo: 35mm x 50mm

 

a) Kindly wear dark colour attire. Forehead and ears must be visibleEyeglass, contact lens, earrings and nose piercing must be removedTeeth should not be visible.

b) Applicants who wear a hijab/scarf must wear a dark-colored hijab/scarf.

Passport copy of parents for applicants below 18 years old. (Biodata/Personal Particulars page and valid China/Malaysia Visa page only).

*5.

Photocopy of Malaysian Identification Card / MYKAD and China ID of parents for applicant below 18 years old (front and back in A4 size paper).

*6.

a) Photocopy of Parents Malaysian Marriage Registration Certificate & China Marriage Certificate (with translation) for applicant below 18 years old. 

 

b) *Either parent must bring the children custody order from Malaysian / China Court in the case of divorcement.

7.

Fill up the Passport application form (IM.42) which can get over the counter in Visa Section. (Write the residence address in China in Pinyin).

Malaysian International Passport can be renewed 6 to 12 months prior to expiry.

 

The applicant must bring all original and photocopied documents for verification by the officer.

 

Successful submission will be mailed to Immigration Department in Putrajaya for processing which takes approximately 4 to 6 months for new passport collection.

 

No appointment is required and applicant may come during operation hours as follows:

Specifications for photographs.

  1. A 35mm x 50mm photo with a WHITE background without a shadow
  2. Passport bearer's face size is a minimum of 25-30mm (50% - 60% of the photo space size according to ICAO)

 

 

Notification:

  1. The Malaysian Parents must come in person with the children for the children’s passport application. (Not applicable for a divorce case with the court order).

 

  1. For applicant below 18 years old, parents need to fill in the A1/B1 form at the nearest Malaysian Embassy, Consulate or Immigration office if they are not in China. Upon receiving the verified A1/B1 form via email from the respective offices mentioned above, application will be processed for submission.

 

  1. MYKAD (Malaysia Identification Card) must be in good condition, not damaged and renewed to the new type as currently used in Malaysia.

 

  1. Visa Section will notify the applicant by call or email when your new passport arrived.

 

  1. The applicant must bring the old passport, payment receipt and the identification card for the new passport collection. The old passport will be cancelled upon collection of the new passport. The applicant may remain to use the old passport until collecting the new one.

 

  1. Passport is a security document. The applicant must come in person to the embassy for the renewal process. There is no other medium or method can be used for application submission and passport collection.

 

  1. The passport application form can be downloaded from Immigration Malaysia Website (https://www.imi.gov.my/index.php/en/forms-download/) or Consulate General Malaysia in Guangzhou Website (https://www.kln.gov.my/web/chn_guangzhou/forms). 

Passport application form must be printed double sided on a piece of A4 sized paper.
