Tourism Malaysia Hong Kong, with the support of the Consulate General, put together a Malaysia Tourism and Cultural Workshop on 27 April 2023. Mrs Idawati Zakariah, spouse of Consul General of Malaysia delivered welcoming remarks to the attendees comprising of spouses of Consuls General in Hong Kong, who later tried their hand at batik painting. A presentation on the tourism attractions Malaysia Truly Asia has to offer was also given by Tourism Malaysia Hong Kong Director Mrs Tan Mei Leng. Malaysian batik is a traditional textile art found throughout Malaysia, especially in the east coast states that are Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang. Popular motifs are beautiful depictions of flowers and varieties of flora.
