H.E. Dato’ Norman Muhamad, Ambassador of Malaysia to the People’s Republic of China undertook his first official visit to Hong Kong on 24-28 January 2024.
During the visit, the Ambassador called on the Hon. John Lee Ka-chiu, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. They had fruitful discussions on a range of topics of mutual interest towards enhancing Malaysia-Hong Kong relations.
The Ambassador also attended The Malaysian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong & Macau 10th Anniversary Cocktail Reception. The Ambassador visited and met with Malaysian enterprises based in Hong Kong such as Lei Shing Hong Ltd, Guoco Group Ltd, Public Bank Hong Kong, and Pak Fah Yeow International Ltd.
As part of his trade promotion initiative, the Ambassador met with representatives from Grace Cup Group – a major importer of Malaysian produce as well as food and beverage products in Hong Kong – over a breakfast meeting.The Ambassador also took the time to drop by the Consulate General of Malaysia, which provided the opportunity for him to forge connections with the Consulate team and exchange views on current regional developments.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and the People’s Republic of China. The Embassy of Malaysia in Beijing and the Consulate General of Malaysia in Hong Kong look forward to commemorating this important milestone.
