08 November 2024 1 views
On 30 October 2024, the Consulate General of Malaysia in Frankfurt hosted The Malaysian Breakfast Culture at Genussakademie, Frankfurt am Main, showcasing Malaysia’s vibrant and diverse breakfast traditions. This special event introduced guests to three iconic dishes nominated for UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list: nasi lemak, roti canai, and teh tarik. Attendees were also treated to other delicious Malaysian classics like bihun goreng, gulai ikan, dalca, and a selection of traditional kuih-muih, including karipap, kaswi pandan, and bingka ubi.
The event's highlight was a live cooking demonstration by Dato’ Chef Ismail Ahmad, Malaysia’s beloved celebrity chef and culinary ambassador.
The guests of honor included the spouses of the Consul Generals from Thailand, Indonesia, and South Korea, as well as the spouse of the Honorary Consul of Cambodia. Also present were esteemed lady diplomats from the respective Consulates, members of the Ladies Association of the Malaysian Consulate, and representatives of the Malaysian Club Deutschland.
This event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Malaysia's rich culinary heritage with our friends in Germany, bringing a taste of home to Frankfurt.
