WORKING VISIT OF FOREIGN MINISTER TO ALGIERS

YB Dato' Sri Anifah Hj Aman, Minister of Foreign Affairs (FM) of Malaysia was on a working visit to Algiers recently for the NAM Ministerial Meeting and to garner more support for Malaysia's bid for the nonpermanent seat of the UNSC. He was accompanied by his wife and senior officials of the Ministry as well as the Permanent Representative to UN in NY. Apart from delivering his statement at the meeting, FM had the opportunity to meet his counterparts  from the NAM member countries to seek their support respectively for Malaysia's bid for the seat. Following the visit, Malaysia secured the written support of the government of Algeria for the UNSC's non-permanent seat for 2015-2016.
