On 21 November 2025, H.E. Haznah Md Hashim,Ambassador-Designate of Malaysia to Spain, presented her copy of credentials to H.E.Adrián Couce, Introducer of Ambassadors at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain. H.E. Haznah Md Hashim is notably the second Malaysian woman to serve as Ambassador to Spain, following H.E. Zaibedah Hj. Ahmed (1990–1994)—a proud milestone for Malaysia’s diplomatic history. Throughout her distinguished career, Her Excellency has served in various Malaysian Missions abroad, including Washington D.C., Bandar Seri Begawan, and most recently as the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Dhaka. Prior to this current appointment, she served as the Undersecretary of the Americas Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia.
The Embassy warmly welcomes Her Excellency and is confident that under her leadership, the bilateral relations between Malaysia and Spain will continue to grow and strengthen.
