Malaysia’s Ambassador to Spain, Dato’ Naimun Ashakli Mohammad and the Chief Minister of Terengganu, Dato’ Ahmad Said had a meeting on 4 October 2009 in conjunction with the Chief Minister’s recent visit to Spain. The Chief Minister was accompanied by 20 other top Terengganu Government officials for the meeting.
The Terengganu Chief Minister was briefed on the bilateral relations between Malaysia and Spain as well as the overall situation in Spain, with particular emphasis on investment, trade as well as the measures taken by the country to cope with the global economic crisis. The Minister, in response, mentioned that the main objective of his visit is to understand past Islamic civilizations in Europe and to enable his officials to build and promote Terengganu as Malaysia’s model Islamic state.
