APPLICATION FOR A NEW / RENEWAL OF MALAYSIAN PASSPORT
1) Please complete the Passport Application form (IM.42 - Pin. 1/97) and submit with the following documents either in person or mail to:

2) Your Malaysian Passport and a photocopy of pages 1-7.
3) Your original Malaysian Identity card and a photocopy of the front and back. Please note that we no longer accept the old blue Malaysian Identity card.
4) Your original Malaysian birth certificate (not applicable if you are over 12 years of age) and a photocopy.
5) Your original Malaysian Citizenship certificate (not applicable if you are born after 31.08.1957) and a photocopy.
6) Two (2) recent colored passport sized photographs with plain light blue/grey background only. Dimensions: 3.5cm X 5cm. Your face should cover the entire photograph showing your features clearly. (Please note that photos by coin-operated machines are not acceptable).
7) Your original Permanent Resident (PR) card/passport page of PR status and a photocopy.
8) If you DO NOT possess a PR card, you are required to produce a Search Letter from the Finnish Directorate of Immigration (MIGRI) and/or Extract of Population from Maistraatti, confirming that you have not acquired Finnish Citizenship (not applicable if you are below 18 years of age).
9) If you are on a Student Visa, please produce a letter from your university, college or school, confirming that you are a bona fide student together with your study visa issued by the Finnish Directorate of Immigration.
10) If you have changed your signature from that of your present passport, please have it certified by a Notary Public or at the nearest Malaysian Embassy.
11) Please affix your right thumbprint in black ink as indicated on the application form (IM.42 - Pin.1/97).
12) The fee payable for the Machine Readable Passport (MRP) which carries a validity of five (5) years is RM300.00 (32-page) and RM 600.00 (64-page). We accept payment by cash, Postal Money Order or Bank Draft made payable to the EMBASSY OF MALAYSIA.
13) A self-addressed prepaid envelope for the return of your documents. The Embassy of Malaysia will not be liable for any mail that is lost, misplaced or damaged during dispatch. (Non applicable for those who come in person)
14) Processing takes three (3) to five (5) months for all complete applications.
Please note that all incomplete applications will be returned to the sender.
