APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGE OVERSEAS
1) Please complete the Marriage Registration Application form (JPN.KC 06) and submit with the following documents either in person or mail to:

2) Original Finnish Marriage Certificate /Extract of Marriage from Maistraati and two (2) photocopies.
3) Original Finnish Permanent Resident (PR) cards or sticker in your passport of you and your spouse and two (2) photocopies each.
4) If you DO NOT possess a PR card, you are required to produce a Search Letter from the Finnish Directorate of Immigration (MIGRI) and/or Extract of Population from Maistraatti, confirming that you have not acquired Finnish Citizenship
5) Original Malaysian passports of you and your spouse and two (2) photocopies each of pages 1-7.
6) Original Malaysian Identity cards of you and your spouse and two (2) photocopies each of the front and back. Please note that we no longer accept the old blue Malaysian Identity card.
7) Two (2) recent colored passport sized photographs each with dimensions of 3.5cm X 5cm. The face should cover the entire photograph showing their features clearly. (Please note that photos by coin-operated machines are not acceptable).
8) The fee is Euro5.00 only. We accept payment by Cash, Postal Money Order or Bank Draft made payable to the EMBASSY OF MALAYSIA, HELSINKI.
9) A self-addressed prepaid envelope for the return of your documents (applicable only if you want them mailed). The Embassy of Malaysia will not be liable for any mail that is lost, misplaced or damaged during dispatch.
10) Processing takes ten (10) bussiness days for all complete applications.
Please note that all incomplete applications will be returned to the sender.
IMPORTANT:
Marriages should be registered within six (6) months. Late registration of marriages exceeding six (6) months to one (1) year will be fined RM$100.00 and an additional RM$100.00 thereafter for every year missed to a maximum of RM$1000.00 only.
NOTE:
The Marriage Registration Application Form (JPN.KC 06) is available at the Embassy. You may collect it personally or send us a self-addressed prepaid envelope if you want it to be mail-delivered to you.
