The Embassy of Malaysia, together with the Embassies of Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Nordic-Asean Business Forum (NABF) organized the ASEAN Business Seminar at the Chancery of the Embassy of Indonesia on 1 June 2016. HE Dato' Blanche Olbery, Ambassador of Malaysia to Finland, is currently the Chairman of ASEAN Helsinki and thus delivered the opening remarks at the Seminar.
The participants of more than 50 guests had the opportunity to listen to speakers from participating ASEAN countries with resident missions in Helsinki, as well as local organizations that are involved in ASEAN trade and investments.
The speakers include HE Mrs. Wiwiek Setyawati Firman, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Finland, Ms. Pensom Lertsithichai, Minister Counsellor at the Royal Thai Embassy, Mr. Vu Chien Thang, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of Vietnam, Mdm. Roslina Othman, Director, Malaysia Investment Development Authority, Ms. Mary Borromeo Hedfors from the Trade and Investment Office of the Philippines, Ms. Birgit Nevala, the Business Partnership Coordinator of Finnpartnership, Mr. Jani Kaulo who is one of the board members of the Finland-Asean Trade Association and Ms. Maria Wan, Chairman of the Nordic-Asean Business Forum Ry.
The seminar received good response as ASEAN is increasing attractive with impressive economic growth, further compounded by the establishment of the ASEAN Community in 2015.
