On 8 August 2011, the Indonesian Embassy as the Chair of ASEAN 2011 hosted the Flag Raising Ceremony at the Embassy of Indonesia in Helsinki. The event was attended by the Heads of Mission from ASEAN Member States in Helsinki, representatives of the ASEAN Dialogue Partners countries in Helsinki and officials from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. The observation of the flag raising ceremony was accompanied by the ASEAN Anthem.
H.E. Ambassador Cheah Choong Kit in his capacity as the Dean of the ASEAN Ambassadors in Helsinki gave a short remarks. While noting the importance of celebrating the joyous occasion of ASEAN Day, he welcomed closer and committed engagement with countries of ASEAN Dialogue Partners.
