We had an insightful visit to Kokkola, organised by the City of Kokkolan kaupunki - Karleby stad and initiated by Malaysia s the current Chair of the ASEAN Helsinki Committee and accompanied by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority - MIDA Stockholm office. The visit provided an important platform for relationship-building and exploring new markets, focusing on industries such as Sustainability and Clean Energy, Healthcare Innovation and Elderly Care, Maritime and Industrial Collaboration, and Education and Technology Partnerships.
Kokkola, sited the "Finnish capital of battery chemistry" has made major investments in sustainable industries and continues to punch above its weight in key sectors. With 680 million people represented by ASEAN, the visit creates exciting opportunities for deeper collaboration and partnerships between ASEAN and Kokkola
Thank you to Ms. Tiina Isotalus, Ms. Nora Birkman Neunstedt, Mr. Timo Lahtinen, and Ms. Sonja Remell for hosting us and the insightful introductory presentations at the Kokkola City Hall. A special thanks also to the "Neliveto" orchestra from the Kokkola Conservatory for their heartwarming performance, and to everyone who joined us for a delightful dinner and walking tour of the charming Neristan wooden town.
