In the spirit of Bulan Sukan Negara, the Malaysian Embassy Helsinki wishes to highlight another Malaysian gem here in Finland in the spirit of Sports Diplomacy
Yap Eu Jin embarked on his ice hockey journey in Malaysia, where he eventually had the privilege of representing the national team from 2007 to 2017. While initially volunteering as a coach, he later made a significant career shift away from the IT field to wholeheartedly pursuing coaching. The notion of challenging himself inspired him to further enhance his coaching expertise. Following thorough research and consultations with friends, he pursued a degree in sports coaching and management at a university in Finland. Throughout his time in Finland from 2018 to 2023, he's gained valuable experience coaching diverse clubs and age groups. Recently, he has relocated to Germany due to an exciting new job opportunity and we are extreamely happy for him.
