Ahead of the International Women in Maritime Day on 18 May, it’s inspiring to see countries like Finland leading the way in promoting gender equality and empowering women in the maritime sector. Malaysia, too, is deeply committed to advancing the maritime industry and fostering inclusivity. The occasion honours the remarkable contributions of women driving innovation and progress across the maritime sector worldwide.
Malaysia continues to actively campaign for a seat on the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council, Category C, for the 2026–2027 term. This reflects our dedication to shaping global maritime policies and advancing the industry. For years, Malaysia has championed sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation within the maritime community—paving the way for a stronger, more diverse, and resilient future at sea.
Together, we sail forward.
