With the arrival of year of the Dragon, the Embassy of Malaysia hosted a Chinese New Year Pot Luck Open House at the World Trade Center in Helsinki on 4 February 2012.
Guests which comprised the Malaysian community in Finland as well as Friends of Malaysia including members of Finland-Malaysia Association were served with a wide range of Chinese New Year dishes apart from the variety of desserts brought by them.
A lucky draw was also held in conjunction with the event where winners had won cruise discounted tickets to Stockholm and Tallinn. In addition to the lucky draw, traditional Chinese red envelopes or known as ‘Ang Pow’ were handed out by the Ambassador of Malaysia to the children and the unmarried, most of whom are under the age of 18.
