On 23 March 2018, PYT Ambassador Dato’ Blanche Olbery paid a courtesy call on the new H.E. Ambassador Matti Anttonen, Permanent State Secretary, who took office on 1 March 2018. The call was arranged at the request of the former to personally handover a letter from YB Dato' Sri Anifah Aman to his Finnish counterpart, H.E. Timo Soini on the ongoing negotiations regarding the new directive of the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED II), and to further discuss the bilateral relations between Malaysia and Finland. Also present at the meeting were Mr. Anssi Kullberg, Desk Officer (Malaysia), Department of Americas and Asia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and also Ms. Norhalilah Abdul Jalil, First Secretary, Embassy of Malaysia, Finland.
