Chargé d'Affaires Ariff Ali of the Malaysian Embassy Helsinki connected with Dr. Olli-Pekka Malinen from University of Helsinki, Faculty of Educational Sciences, to learn more about the INCO project (Opetushallitus - Utbildningsstyrelsen) on inclusive education in co-teaching teams.
This trilateral teacher mobility programme—connecting Finland, Malaysia, and Indonesia—serves as a successful model for the internationalisation of teacher training. It enhances Malaysia’s teacher education by providing exposure to Finnish pedagogical models and inclusive teaching practices, while offering Finnish students global teaching experience that aligns with the core purpose of their study programme. The project also strengthens bilateral education ties between our nations.
The Malaysian Embassy Helsinki continues to be committed to fostering Education Diplomacy; supporting teacher mobility between our countries and impactful educational exchanges through collaboration, outreach, and visibility. We hope to see the institutionalisation of such programmes that has long-term sustainability and positive impact for all stakeholders.
