The main objective of the visit was to learn how to balance the cultivation of a sustainable forestry industry (green tech) whilst still being able to produce pulp, paper and forest related products, and thus balancing between production and keeping the environment clean and establishing a carbon sink environment.ASEAN Helsinki Committee had first hand visits to companies that deal directly with forestry matters in Joensuu and the North-Karelia region.
