Happy Aleksis Kivi Day and Day of Finnish Literature!

Aleksis Kivi (1834–1872) is considered a national author of Finland and one of the founders of literature in the Finnish language.

Kivi is the author of Seven Brothers, one of the key works in Finnish literature, along with many plays and poems. His works offer a window into Finnish mindset and language.

The value of literature in treasuring national culture is appreciated in Malaysia also. The 'Anugerah Sasterawan Negara Malaysia' is an award given to those who contribute to the field of Malay language literature. The Award is selected by the Secretariat of the National Literary Award Panel supported by the Language and Library Council, under the supervision of the Malaysian Ministry of Education.
