Malaysia similarly celebrates National Environment Day - Hari Alam Sekitar Negara on 21 October. The day highlights the importance of protecting the environment as a shared responsibility, and includes community participation through nature conservation activities such as tree planting, mutual cooperation related to the environment, reducing the use of single-use plastics as well as educational programmes such as cultivating a sustainable lifestyle.
