Little Christmas Reception at the Embassy of Malaysia, Helsinki
Together with the Finland-Malaysia Association (FMA), the Embassy of Malaysia in Helsinki hosted a Little Christmas Reception at the Chancery with the Malaysian community as well as friends of Malaysia from the FMA on 13 December 2014. With almost a hundred attendance, guests were treated to a performance by a local band, and varieties of food, both from Malaysia and Finland.
During the event, Her Excellency Puan Sri Blanche Olbery, Ambassador of Malaysia provided snapshots of events throughout 2014 including high-level visits from Malaysia to Finland, growing interests of the Finnish people in tourism in Malaysia, bilateral investment and programmes at the Embassy. HE Ambassador also highlighted various activities that the Embassy is planning to undertake in the New Year 2015 which included participation of Tourism Malaysia at the MATKA Fair in January 2015, business seminar by Malaysia Investment Development Agency (MIDA) and exchange of high-level visits between Malaysia and Finland.
The reception was successful in connecting Malaysians with the staff at the Embassy to forge closer friendship and cooperation as the Embassy is due to celebrate its 10th year anniversary in Helsinki and the FMA’s 30th year anniversary.
The Embassy was also honoured with the presence of YBhg Tan Sri M. Kayveas, Spouse of HE Ambassador, who was visiting Helsinki at the time.
