This year we welcomed fellow Malaysians to our Year End Potluck Gathering (YEPG) that was hosted at the premises of the Malaysian Embassy Helsinki. Fellow Malaysians (and Friends of Malaysia) from all walks from Finland (and even Estonia) were here under one roof enjoying the lovely food that was prepared in a potluck fashion for everyone to enjoy.
The Potluck Gathering event was an extension to a successful gathering hosted earlier in June 2024. This time around, Mr Ariff Ali, Charge d'Affaires of the Malaysian Embassy of Helsinki, took the opportunity to highlight on:-
(i) Thanking fellow Malaysians here in Finland/Estonia/Latvia for continuously engaging with the Malaysian Embassy throught the years;
(ii) The Finnish Government recently updated the Crisis Preparedness Advice. CDA Ariff assured Malaysians to not panic as this was a common practice from time-to-time, Nevertheless, he reminded Malaysians to continue to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings in this part of the world;
(iii) He also encouraged Malaysians to consider to register with the Malaysian Embassy in Finland, if not done so (or if you know of other fellow Malaysians in Finland/Estonia/Latvia not in the whatsapp group created previously);
(iv) It was also reminded to be aware of the validity of Malaysian passport holders and their responsibility to ensure that it is valid to avoid any problems with authorities here in Finland or potential inconveniences for personal travelling later at some point; and
(v) Wishing fellow Malaysians a Happy Deepavali/Diwali and Merry X-Mas to those who celebrated & will be celebrating soon.
The event was made also made special as it was in conjunction with 20th Year Anniversary of the Establishment of the Physical Presence of the Malaysian Embassy in Finland.
