Malaysia has become a popular tourist destination for Finnish tourists. To attract Nordic and northern European travellers, Malaysia participated at the MATKA Nordic Travel Fair in Helsinki from 19 to 21 January 2018. This year, the state tourism boards of Sabah, Sarawak, and the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) were jointly promoting packages together with inbound agents. During the travel fair, Langkawi highlighted its beautiful beaches and islands, Sabah for its crystal clear dive sites and mesmerizing Kinabalu Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, while Sarawak highlighted their lush karst landscape of Mulu National Park, also a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The appeal of the multi-destination packages is further enhanced by AirAsia’s introduction of services between Kuching and Langkawi as well as existing domestic flights between Sabah and Sarawak.
