Its always a heart-warming feeling to know Malaysians doing great things in every corner of the world. Today the Malaysian Embassy Helsinki Amb John met with three fellow Malaysians here in Oulu in conjunction with the visit to the University of Oulu - Dr Ping Jack Soh, his wife, Dr Nora Jullok, and Dr Terence Tan Teck Ming.
- Dr Jack is currently Associate Professor (Tenure Track) in Antenna Design and Technologies at the University of Oulu, and the coordinator for the “Devices and Circuit Technology” strategic research area within the Finnish 6G Flagship research programme (pls refer to links for further reference - https://www.oulu.fi/fi/tutkijat/ping-jack-soh)
Also worth mentioning is that The Academy of Finland’s Research Council for Natural Sciences and Engineering has recently selected Dr Jack's work together with another 59 researchers to receive the prestigious Academy Research Fellowship funding:
- Dr Terence is an Associate Professor with the Oulu Business School. His research interest include blockchain, branding, sharing economy, sustainability, and social movement. He will also be starting as a visiting scholar to Harvard University, US, in August 2023.

- Dr Nora is currently a Researcher with Neste Corporation, the world’s leading producer of sustainable aviation fuel, renewable diesel and renewable feedstock solutions for various polymers and chemicals industry uses.
As we celebrate the 50th Year of Bilateral Relations and as we look to explore the opportunities Malaysia-Finland has to offer here in Oulu, it is great to continue the journey by crossing paths with inspiring Malaysians making waves in this part of the world along the way.
