Malaysian Embassy Helsinki was present at the opening event of the Spark Academy by The Shortcut that showed there are supportive institutional structures for innovation and diversity such as the free services provided by Business Helsinki, Business Finland and Grow with Google.
The keynote speaker of the event MP Saara-Sofia Sirén highlighted in her speech that Finland needs more entrepreneurs, immigrants and diversity. Inclusion of women and non-binary individuals as well as people of different backgrounds means new perspectives and new solutions - and often tackling social challenges, as well as being profitable to include women on the boards.
The participants in the programme include diverse innovative business ideas including fellow Malaysian participant Fenny Lai's idea involving well-being and mental health in the education sector.
Such programmes are an inspiring example of Finland supporting diversity and entrepreneurship.
