Malaysia remains dedicated to advancing education to meet the demands of the modern world. As part of this commitment, a delegation from the Centre for Instructor and Advanced Skill Training (CIAST) and the Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia (Kementerian Sumber Manusia) recently visited Finland focusing on vocational education and training.
Recent developments in Malaysia's TVET policy announced by the Ministry of Education mark a significant step in our journey toward educational innovation.
What’s New?
• The Ministry of Education (MOE) will introduce elements of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) starting from Year One in primary schools through the 2027 curriculum.
• Primary students will learn TVET elements through an integrated approach, covering subjects like science, technology, digital arts, music, and health education.
• Meanwhile, Year Five and Six students will learn basic TVET subjects, including technology, home science, engineering, programming, and agriculture.
• “Learning will be project-based, allowing students to understand, explore, and apply technology and digital knowledge in various fields," said Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh.
As we work toward a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Finland on Education and Research, we hope to foster even stronger collaboration and chart a clear direction for the future of education.
