The Finnish MFA held a virtual event yesterday to launch its candidacy to the UNHRC for the 2022-2024 term. Both PM Marin and FM Haavisto also took part in the event. The 4 areas which Finland will concentrate on will be education, climate change, digitalization and women and girls. Similarly, Malaysia too is vying for a seat at the Council, under the Asia-Pacific group, for the same period. The theme in propelling our candidacy is....... 'In Unity for Humanity'.
The last time Malaysia was on the Council was for the 2010-2013 term.
