14 November 2013 1 views

HE Amb Datin Seri Blanche Olbery met with Mr. Mika Halttunen, Chairman of the Board of the Halton Group in its headquarters in Helsinki on 14 November 2013.  Halton, a family-owned company, was founded in 1969 with a turnover of €148 million with personnel more than 1300 throughout its 30 offices around the world.

Halton has three regional headquarters in Helsinki (Finland), Bowling Green (the USA) and Shah Alam (Malaysia).  Their regional headquarters in Malaysia was setup almost twenty years ago in 1996.  It was a bold move for a Finnish company to be among the pioneers to setup their operation in Malaysia, and the outcome has been rewarding for the Group.

A company that focuses on quality indoor environment, Halton provides its expertise in indoor environment to offices, leisure, restaurant and hotels, public buildings, health care and marine and offshore.

During the meeting, Mr. Halttunen briefed HE Ambassador on the history and services of Halton throughout the world, and also discussing matters relating to the standard of indoor air quality and why their service is very much sought-after. Mr. Halttunen also updated HE Ambassador on the development of their manufacturing plant in Shah Alam, their company plan and cooperation with some of the local universities.  Malaysia appreciates the long-term relations with Halton and HE Ambassador renews our commitment to supporting Halton’s operations in Malaysia.  It is scheduled to expand its operation and open its R & D Center in Malaysia end of November 2013.
