LONDON 14 August: Badminton's most prestigious tournament was held at the Wembley Arena last week. Malaysian No. 1 seed Datuk Lee Chong Wei sailed through to the semi finals with an easy victory against China's no. 2, Chen Jin 21-13, 21-9. The finals on Sunday saw Datuk Lee Chong Wei bowed to China's no. 1 seed Lin Dan again in a thrilling rubber set match 22-20, 14-21, 23-21. Among the crowd at the Arena were H.E Datuk Zakaria Sulong the High Commissioner and wife, Mr. Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah the Deputy High Commissioner and wife, Sanator Gan Ping Sieu, Deputy Minister at Ministry of Youth and Sports, Officers of the High Commission in London and more than 50 Malaysian who came to cheer Datuk Lee Chong Wei. Also present were the injured Malaysian student Mohd Ashraf Haziq Rossli and his family who was invited to the match by Mayor Boris Johnson.
