Am I allowed to enter Malaysia?

1. Malaysians

Malaysians can travel to Malaysia.

2. Foreign nationals:

1. Foreign nationals with a valid visa to enter Malaysia (including work permit holders, permanent residents (PR), MM2H - Malaysia My Second Home) can travel to Malaysia; and

2. Foreign nationals who do not hold a valid visa are not allowed to enter Malaysia (except to Langkawi via the Langkawi Island Travel Bubble Programme – see item 5 below). If you need to do so, please apply for permission to enter Malaysia through the following 'MyTravelPass' visa website: https://mtp.imi.gov.my/myTravelPass/main
    

What are the travel requirements to Malaysia from the UK for travellers?

Travelling to Malaysia from the UK:

1. Pre-departure

1. RT-PCR test 2 days before departure.
2. To download the MySejahtera application on their mobile and registers their details into the app at least 48 hours before departure.

2. Upon Arrival in Malaysia

1. RT-PCR test on arrival.
2. To be equipped with a digital tracker worn on the wrist on arrival.
3. Daily RTK-Ag self-test during quarantine (report test result on MySejahtera app).
4. Mandatory quarantine: 5 days (fully vaccinated with booster), 7 days (fully vaccinated) or 10 days (unvaccinated).
5. Quarantine will either be at home or designated quarantine station depending on home quarantine application status. Please also refer to 3 and 4.
6. RT-PCR test on Day-5 (for 7-day quarantine) or on Day-8 (for 10-day quarantine).
7. Risk assessment will be done on the last day of quarantine (Day-7 or Day-10). Quarantine will be extended if symptomatic.
8. Released from quarantine on Day-8 or Day-10 if tested negative for COVID-19 on Day-5 or Day-8.

What are my quarantine options?

• Travellers would need to organise their quarantine prior to their trip.

• You will need to quarantine at your point of entry to Malaysia.

1. Home quarantine:

1. You can apply for home quarantine from the Ministry of Health (MoH) via email hso@moh.gov.my or visit https://hso.moh.gov.my/outbreak-portal-hqa/index.

2.  The home quarantine approval depends on your vaccination status and suitable home conditions / risk assessments. Application for home quarantine can be made 10 days prior to departing for Malaysia. For further queries, contact the MoH home quarantine team hotline - https://covid-19.moh.gov.my/hotline

I tested positive for COVID-19 in the past, are there different travel requirements for my circumstance?

• If you are Malaysian national or foreign national with a valid visa to enter Malaysia, including work permit holders, PR, MM2H), and were infected with COVID-19 11-60 days prior to departing for Malaysia, and the following travel requirements applies:

1. Travellers must have completed their COVID-19 vaccination with proof of vaccination status.

2. Evidence to show that you were infected with COVID-19 within 11 days to 60 days before departure for Malaysia, through printed or digital laboratory test results.

3. Travellers are required to undergo a supervised RTK-Ag test upon arrival.

4. Travellers with a history of hospitalisation due to COVID-19 are required to submit a "Fit to Travel" letter from an approved medical facility e.g., hospital or clinic. List of general population COVID-19 testing providers - GOV.UK (publishing.service.gov.uk)

5. For those who were not hospitalised, they will need to undergo an RTK-Ag test, 2 days before departure. Only travel if the test result is negative.

6. Travellers who are fully vaccinated and have been infected with COVID-19, within 11 to 60 days before departure are EXEMPTED from mandatory quarantine. Unvaccinated and not fully vaccinated travellers are required to undergo quarantine at the quarantine centre for 7 days.

What is the Langkawi Travel Bubble programme?

• The travel bubble programme is open to all travellers from the UK, including Malaysian nationals and foreign nationals. 1. Pre-departure:

1. RT-PCR test 2 days before departure.

3. To download the MySejahtera application on their mobile and registers their details into the app at least 48 hours before departure.

2. Upon arrival

1. RT-PCR test on arrival in Langkawi.
2. Travellers will receive a digital HSO (Home Surveillance Order) and will be allowed to go to the hotel while waiting for the test result.

3. Additional testing requirements:

1. Professional RTK-Ag test must be done on Day-3 and Day-5 in Langkawi.
2. RT-Ag self-test on Day-2, Day-4, and Day-6 (must report test result on the ‘MySejahtera’ app).
3. RT-PCR test 2 days before leaving Langkawi.

Can I transit in Malaysia?

You can transit up to 24 hours via Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and remain airside.
