LONDON , 12 October - The High Commission of Malaysia hosted a grand reception on 12 October at the National Army Museum to commemorate the occasion of Malaysia's 66th National Day, 60th Malaysia Day, and the 90th Malaysia Armed Forces Day. Esteemed guests from the UK Government, diplomatic corps, international organisations, as well as notable figures in the Malaysian community in UK enlivened the event.

In his speech, H.E. Dato’ Zakri Jaafar expanded on the excellent state of bilateral relations between UK and Malaysia, where the 65th anniversary was just celebrated last year. The UK continues to be an important partner to Malaysia in political dialogue, economic development and international relations. Malaysia remains steadfast in our pursuit of an independent, principled and pragmatic foreign policy, founded on the values of peace, humanity, justice and equality, and based on the international rule of law.

Throughout the night, Mr Kevin Saw, a violinist from the Royal Northern College of Music, and a recipient of the PES scheme with the BBC Philharmonic, performed renditions of Malaysian and classical music. Guests also had the opportunity to view a collection of paintings by artist and medical doctor Dr Fitri Fareez Ramli, titled Suratan & Kiriman.

The High Commission extends heartfelt gratitude to all who graced the event to celebrate with us. May this memorable evening serve as a source of inspiration for unity and prosperity for years to come.
