The National Day reception was held at the High Commission on 28th August 2008 from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. The guests were received by H E Datuk Abd Aziz Mohammed and Datin Munah Abd Razak. About 350 guests attended the reception. Among them were members of the diplomatic corp, officials from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, captains of British industries, British journalists, members of the British Malaysia Society and British veterans. The guests were served a variety of Malaysian food such as satay, nasi minyak, rendang, curry puff, kuih bingka etc.
