Nottingham Malaysian Games 2009

 

The Nottingham Malaysian Games 2009, (NMG) held at University of Nottingham, Saturday 31 October, commemorated the games' Silver Jubilee. Since its beginning in 1985 the NMG has developed into the biggest annual Malaysian sporting event in the United Kingdom.

 

The NMG 2009 was officiated by Dato' Ahmad Shabery Cheek, the Malaysian Minister of Youth and Sports. Also present was the Vice Chancellor of the University of Nottingham, Professor David Greenway and officials from the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education, High Commission of Malaysia, Malaysian Students Department and representatives from the NMG 2009 sponsors.

  

More than 5000 participants from over 60 universities participated in the games under the theme 'New Games, New Ground, New Generation'. The NMG 2009 also showcased a Malaysian Food Festival.
