A reception was held at the High Commission of Malaysia, London for swimmer Zahra Masoumah Abdul Halim, 7 July 2009. In his address Deputy High Commission Datuk Rustam Yahaya said Zahra's attempt to swim the English Channel was an encouragement to all Malaysian to face challenges with confidence. Zahra said she was determined to have another go at the 34km swim. She had to abandon her attempt on July 1 after spending almost 13 hours battling strong tides and waves.
