HIGH COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA IN ACCRA,

REPUBLIC OF GHANA

MALAYSIAN VISA APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS NOTICE

 

Applicants shall observe and comply the following requirements when submitting their applications to the Visa  Section at the High Commission of Malaysia. Applicants are advised to read carefully all the requirements.

A. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (Applicable to all visa types)  

Submitting Your Application

  1. Visa application must be submitted by the applicant : 

  High Commission of Malaysia,

No. 5, Nii Amaah Ollenu Street, Airport West, Accra.

ii. Please ensure that your application is submitted to High Commission of Malaysia at least 10  days before travelling to Malaysia.

iii. Diplomatic and Service Passport Holders may refer to item G of this document. Documents Required (Mandatory)

v. To fill in the VISA FORM (IM.47.PIND.12/93) which can be obtained online or at the Visa Section  of the High Commission. Applicant’s phone number should be written at the top right corner of  the form. Please write in BLOCK CAPITALS using BLACK/BLUE ink

vi. Attach two (2) recent PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPHS (plain white or off-white background). Applicant’s face must be clearly visible. Do not wear spectacles /glasses / cap / hat.

vii. VALID PASSPORT of at least six (6) months from the expiry date and kindly bring one (1) copy of the holder’s information page for our record.

viii. Please ensure that the passport contains at least TWO (2) EMPTY PAGES.

ix. Health Certificate (YELLOW FEVER VACCINATION) is compulsory and kindly submit together  one (1) copy of the front page and vaccination details page of the card.

     Kindly ensure that the  vaccination should be taken at least 10 days before travelling to Malaysia.

x. A mandatory CONFIRMED-PURCHASED RETURN AIR TICKET to Malaysia (proof of ticket  purchased or online receipt if purchased online) for the period of no longer than 30 days stay in  Malaysia. Kindly bring both original and one (1) copy for reference.

xi. A mandatory CONFIRMED-BOOKED ACCOMMODATION in Malaysia for the period of no longer than 30 days  in Malaysia with full address of the premise. Kindly bring one  (1) copy for our reference.

xii. A mandatory ORIGINAL-ENDORSED BANK STATEMENT / ACCOUNT STATEMENT of at  least three (3) months prior the date of application proving sufficient fund to travel and stay in  Malaysia.

xiii. Non-citizen residing in the Republic of Ghana must possess a valid and active RESIDENT PERMIT.

Visa Fee

xiv. Visa fee is based on the applicant’s Country of Origin/Passport’s Nation/Citizenship.

Important Notice

xv. Please ensure that all necessary requirements and documents as stated above are duly complied  when submitting your application. Failure to do so may cause your application to be REJECTED or DELAYED.

xvi. Applicant may be interviewed by the High Commission of Malaysia for further assessment. xvii. The High Commission deserves THE RIGHT TO REJECT APPLICATION THAT IS INCOMPLETE OR WITH AMBIGUOUS DETAILS AND SHALL NOT OBLIGED TO  EXPLAIN ON THE REJECTION. In the event of rejected application, THE VISA FEE PAID IS NON-REFUNDABLE.

xvii. Kindly be reminded that visa holders should ensure sufficient fund for their stay in Malaysia and  could prove clearly to the Immigration Officer at the Entry Point. Failure to do so would result in repatriation (Not to Land – NTL).

xvIii. Applicants are ADVISED TO RETAIN AND BRING ALONG THE SAME DOCUMENTS as  mentioned above when travelling to Malaysia in case of questioning by the Immigration Officer at  the Entry Point.

xix. VISA WHICH HAS BEEN GRANTED IS NOT AN ABSOLUTE GUARANTEE THAT THE  HOLDER WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER MALAYSIA. THE IMMIGRATION  DEPARTMENT OF MALAYSIA HAS THE FULL RIGHT TO ALLOW OR TO DENY ENTRY  INTO MALAYSIA AT THE POINT OF ENTRY.

B. TRAVELLING TO MALAYSIA FOR BUSINESS/OFFICIAL PURPOSES (ADDITIONAL  DOCUMENTS REQUIRED)

            i. Letter of introduction from applicant’s company/office in Ghana OR applicant’s country of origin  stating the purpose of visit to Malaysia.

(Non-citizen residing in the Republic of Ghana must possess a valid and active RESIDENT PERMIT).

ii. Applicant’s latest company registration and certificate to commence business and one (1) copy for  reference.

iii. Applicants company original bank statement of account for at least three (3) months prior to the  date of application proving sufficient fund (not less than USD2,000.00) for the applicant’s intended  stay in Malaysia and one (1) copy for reference.

iv. Letter of invitation to Malaysia by Malaysian business counterpart / company / official agency /  organizer. The letter SHOULD ALSO BE E-MAILED TO THE HIGH COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA (mwaccra@kln.gov.my).

C. TRAVELLING TO MALAYSIA FOR SOCIAL VISIT BY INVITATION (ADDITIONAL  DOCUMENTS REQUIRED)

i. Letter of invitation to Malaysia by the sponsoring family, relatives or friend in Malaysia. The letter SHOULD ALSO BE E-MAILED TO THE HIGH COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA  (mwaccra@kln.gov.my).

ii. Letter of introduction from applicant/applicant’s company/organization in Ghana OR applicant’s country of origin stating stating the purpose of visit to Malaysia.

(Non-citizen residing in the Republic of Ghana must possess a valid and active RESIDENT PERMIT).

iii. Applicant’s original-endorsed bank statement / account statement of at least three (3) months prior the date of application proving sufficient fund (not less than USD2,000.00) during applicant’s  stay in Malaysia.

iv. Guarantee letter from a sponsor who will be responsible for the applicant’s expenses during her/his stay in Malaysia and kindly provide one (1) copy for our record.

v. Bank Statement of the sponsor at least three (3) months prior the date of application.

 

D. TRAVELLING TO MALAYSIA FOR SOCIAL VISIT WITHOUT INVITATION (ADDITIONAL  DOCUMENTS REQUIRED).

i. Letter of introduction from applicant/applicant’s company/organization in Ghana OR applicant’s country of origin stating the purpose of visit to Malaysia.

(Non-citizen residing in the Republic of Ghana must possess a valid and active RESIDENT PERMIT).

ii. Applicant’s original bank statement of account at least three (3) months prior the date of application proving sufficient fund (not less than USD2,000.00) during applicant’s stay in Malaysia.

iii. Applicant who travel with group need to provide his/her personal bank statement of account at  least three (3) months (not less than USD2,000.00) together with the company bank statement of  account.

iv. Applicant’s company/organization need to provide proof that the applicant is their employee/organization member i.e staff ID, Members ID, salary slip, etc.

 

 E. TRAVELLING TO MALAYSIA FOR EDUCATION/TRAINING/TEAM BUILDING/PRESENTING  PAPERS DURING SEMINAR/COURSE (ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS REQUIRED)

             i. The University/School/Organizer/Institution MUST APPLY the Visa Approval Letter (VAL) from the  Department of Immigration of Malaysia prior to the visa application submission to the High  Commission                     of Malaysia. The VAL SHOULD ALSO BE E-MAILED TO THE HIGH COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA (mwaccra@kln.gov.my).

ii. Application for the purpose of studying in Malaysia should also submit together the financial  documents of the student / parents/ sponsor (i.e bank statements). If the student is travelling 

     under scholarship programs, kindly submit together the scholarship offer.

iii. Letter of introduction from applicant/organization stating purpose of travelling to Malaysia. iv. Offer Letter from the university/school (for student) or Letter of Invitation to Malaysia from organizer       and one (1) copy for reference.

v. Confirm purchased air ticket to Malaysia (proof of ticket purchased or online receipt if purchased  online) and one (1) copy for reference. (For student).

vi. Confirm purchased return air ticket to Malaysia (proof of ticket purchased or online receipt if purchased online) for not more than 30 days and one (1) copy for reference. (For  Training Course)

vii. Confirmed accommodation in Malaysia if the accommodation is not provided by the school/university/organizer and one (1) copy for reference 

F. TRAVELLING TO MALAYSIA FOR EMPLOYMENT PURPOSE - EXPATRIATE (ADDITIONAL  DOCUMENTS REQUIRED)

i. Prior to the visa application, the EMPLOYER is responsible to refer to the EXPATRIATE SERVICES DIVISION of the Department of Immigration of Malaysia (in Malaysia) with regard  to the requirements to appoint an expatriate to work in Malaysia. The Expatriate Services  Division was established to provide services for expatriates and companies to submit expatriate  related to immigration matters. ii. The EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO APPLY THE RELEVANT PASS/PERMIT/LETTER at the Expatriate Services Division of the Department of Immigration of Malaysia prior to the visa  application submission to the High Commission of Malaysia. The relevant Pass/Permit/Letter  SHOULD ALSO BE E-MAILED TO THE HIGH COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA  (mwaccra@kln.gov.my).

iii. Application for the purpose of employment in Malaysia should also submit together the financial  documents of employee/employer (i.e bank statements).

iv. Letter of introduction from applicant/sending-organization/receiving-organization stating the purpose of travelling to Malaysia.

             v. Confirm purchased air ticket to Malaysia (proof of ticket purchased or online receipt if purchased  online) and one (1) copy for reference.

             vi. Confirmed accommodation in Malaysia.

G. DIPLOMATIC AND SERVICE PASSPORT HOLDERS

        i. Diplomatic Passport and Service Passport Holders WITH supporting letter from the Ministry of  Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana or Embassy/High Commission OR  applicant’s country of             origin:

                    • Applications can be made directly at the HIGH COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA at least 05 WORKING DAYS before the date of travelling (excluding selected Malaysian/Ghanaian  gazetted public                            holidays);

                   • Visa Fee and Visa Processing Fee are waived (Gratis); and

                   • Other requirements are enforced except for items A (iii) and A (xiii).

     ii. Diplomatic Passport and Service Passport Holders WITHOUT supporting letter from the  Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana or Embassy/High Commission OR  applicant’s                        country of origin:

        • Applications can be made directly at the HIGH COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA at least 10 WORKING DAYS before the date of travelling (excluding selected Malaysian/Ghanaian  gazetted public                           holidays);

         • Visa Fee and Visa Processing Fee are waived (Gratis); and

         • Other requirements are enforced except for item A (xiii).

H. IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MALAYSIA DIGITAL ARRIVAL CARD (MDAC)

All foreign citizens travelling to Malaysia must complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC), except:

i) Citizens of Singapore;

ii) Diplomatic and Official Passport holders;

iii) Malaysian Permanent Residents and Long Term-Pass holders;

iv) General Certificate of Identity (GCI) Brunei Darussalam holders;

v) Brunei Malaysia Frequent Traveller Facility holders;

vi) Thailand Border Pass holders; and

vii) Indonesia Cross-Border Travel Document (PLB) holders.

Effective 1 January 2024, completion of this MDAC will be mandatory, except those listed above.
