AFRICA BUILDING AND INDUSTRY FAIR, REPUBLIC OF GUINEA

On 28 February 2018, the Republic of Guinea, in collaboration with the Embassy of Morocco in Guinea organized Africa Building and Industrial Fair. The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. attended the opening ceremony at the People Palace of Conakry.

 

The ceremony was officiated by the Guinean Minister of Trade, H.E Marc Yombouno who represented the Government. The Special Advisor to the Head of State Mr. Tibou Camara and the Director General of the Guinean Public-Private Partnership Mr. Gabriel Curtis were also present. The Moroccan Ambassador to Guinea H.E Driss Isbayène also attended the ceremony.

 

Taking the floor, the Director General of APIP, Mr. Gabriel Curtis started by thanking the organisers of this Fair for choosing Guinea to host the event. He also expressed the readiness of his agency to join in partnership with the Moroccan investment promotion agency to develop a fruitful cooperation. Mr. Curtis stressed that the development of the housing sector is a priority in Guinea given the existing huge deficit of housing units.

 

The Special Advisor to the Head of State Mr. Tibou Camara recalled the longstanding relationships existing between the Republic of Guinea and the Kingdom of Morocco. He also highlighted that the themes chosen in this Fair are in line with the priorities set by the Guinean Government as part of the country’s 2040 development vision.

 

The Moroccan Ambassador to Guinea H.E Driss Isbayène praised the existing bilateral ties between the Republic of Guinea and the Kingdom of Morocco. He also recalled that so far 85 bilateral agreements have been signed between both countries. Ambassador Isbayène also stressed that Guinea meets all the conditions (geographical, legal framework) for the development of a South-South cooperation between the two countries.

 

Prior to declaring the Africa Building and Industry Fair open, The Guinean Minister of Trade announced the upcoming signing of the Continental Free Trade Agreement by African leaders which he said would enable to develop the South-South cooperation in all fields.

 

The ceremony ended by a visit of the various stands set up by the organisers.
