MTCP ALUMNI DINNER CUM GET-TOGETHER,26TH JULY 2009

                             
 
        
 
The Malaysian Technical Cooperation ( MTCP) Alumni Dinner cum get-together was hosted by His Excellency Dato’ Wan 
Jaafar Wan Mahamud, Ambassador of Malaysia on Saturday,26th July 2009 at the Official Residence, Conakry. The Alumni 
Dinner cum get-together was attended by 35 former participants of MTCP from various government agencies/ 
departments of the Republic of Guinea. Several Ambassadors from the major recipients of the MTCP namely the Republic 
of  Guinea –Guinea Bissau, Republic of Sierra Leone, Republic of Liberia and Republic of Cote d’ Ivoire and a Malaysian 
bank , International Commercial bank (ICB) were also invited to the function. Her Excellency Madam Marie Agnesse 
TOURE, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Guinea and Guinea Diaspora was invited as the 
special guest of the honour.
In a welcome speech, His Excellency Dato’ Ambassador thanked the MTCP Alumni Members for attending the event. His 
Excellency Dato’ Ambassador also thanked Dr. Bangaly LENAUD, President of the MTCP Alumni Guinea Chapter for his 
good work and untiring efforts in helping to gather most of the former MTCP participants as well as the successful 
hosting of the MTCP Alumni Dinner. His Excellency Dato’ Ambassador told the guests that the MTCP Alumni Dinner cum 
get-together was part of a sustained effort to strengthen the existing relationship as well as serving as a platform for all 
Alumni members to share, establish friendships and remember Malaysia notably our “MH” or Malaysian Hospitality. 
According to His Excellency Dato’ Ambassador, Malaysia is multicultural, multireligion and multilingual country and has 
a diverse ethnic mix where Malays, Chinese, Indians and other ethnic groups live together in racial and religious harmony. 
Perhaps foreigners should say “ Look at Malaysia, it is a wonderful country”. 
Her Excellency Madam Marie Agness TOURE, Secretary General of the Ministry of foreign affairs thanked His Excellency 
Dato’ Ambassador for organizing the MTCP Alumni Dinner cum get-together. Her Excellency Madam Toure in a 
substantial response had praised the Malaysian Government for the courses offered under the MTCP. According to her, 
the MTCP had signified Malaysia’s commitment to South-South Cooperation which focusing on technical cooperation 
among developing nations. Malaysia’s involvement as a facilitator and avenue for training and education under the MTCP 
underscores the importance of strength of the bilateral relations between Guinea and Malaysia. The Secretary General 
called on Malaysia to continue to promote the South-South Cooperation trough the MTCP and assured the Guinea’s 
willingness to assist and cooperate with Malaysia in the forthcoming programme of the MTCP and the philosophy of the 
MTCP that is to achieve sustainable economic and social development.
