His Excellency Ambassador Dato' Wan Jaafar Wan Mahamud has hosted a farewell lunch in honour of Mr. S.N. Seshagiri Rao, Chief Executive Officer, International Commercial Bank (ICB), the wholly owned Malaysian bank, at Official Residence, Conakry, on 11th January 2009.  The event was attended by the Embassy staff and friends of Malaysia in Conakry.

During the course of the luncheon, His Excellency Dato' told the guests that under Mr. Rao the bank continued to register impresive increased profits and is set to become one of the leading banks in west Africa.  According to His Excellency Dato', Mr. Rao has exemplified a high degree of good managenent, good moral attitude, honest, hardworking , respectful and with impeccable record within his organization, resulting in international Award conferred upon every year for "Best Bank of Guinea".   

The bank has won the notable 'Best Bank' Award for the ICB Group globally, during the year 2008, as a result of consistent profitability, quality of assets and significant growth in business volumes in recent years. The bank's name has also figured among the world's Best Banks list published by ' Global Finance' Magazine, for the year 2005, 2006 and 2007 and named the Best Emerging Market Bank for Guinea for 2008.
