Malaysia Airlines has retained its 5-Star Airline status for 2009 – a status it has been holding for the fourth consecutive year since year 2005. The award was given by Skytrax Group, leading research advisors to the world’s airline and air transport industry following the group’s Quality-Cost-Value-Satisfaction (QCVS) audit, conducted between November and December last year.
The assessment acknowledged the highest standard of product across the different quality assessment categories and consistent high standards of service delivery in onboard and airport environments.
Managing director and CEO Datuk Seri Idris Jala said: “This award is a timely recognition of our employees’ continuous commitment to deliver the highest quality at affordable prices under our vision of being the World’s Five Star Value Carrier.”
“Under MH=Malaysian Hospitality, we treat our customers as we would treat guests to our own homes. We now have over 700 customer-focused initiatives. These are aimed at improving our frontliners’ interaction skills and service delivery, and improving our physical product and service offerings.”
Other airlines that have received this award include Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Qatar Airways, Asiana Airlines and Kingfisher Airlines.
