MALAYSIA DEEPLY CONCERNED BY THE EXERCISE OF VETO AT THE SECURITY COUNCIL

29 September 2025 1 views
Malaysia is deeply concerned by the veto exercised at the United Nations Security Council on 18 September 2025, which blocked a resolution calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and the lifting of restrictions on humanitarian aid into Gaza. The veto will only embolden Israel to persist with its genocide, as seen in the latest ground assault that has caused more killings, intensified famine, and forced the displacement of over 450,000 Palestinians. Such actions, in blatant defiance of international law and humanitarian principles, reflect Israel’s systematic policy of collective punishment and ethnic cleansing.

Malaysia reaffirms its unwavering commitment to pursue peace and justice for the Palestinian people. Malaysia will continue to work with the international community towards ending Israel’s atrocities and realising the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, along with Palestine’s swift and unconditional admission as a full member of the United Nations.
