The Embassy of Malaysia had organised a reception to celebrate together the 55th National Day of Malaysia and also Malaysia Day on 17th September 2012 at Hotel Antunovic in Zagreb.
More than 150 guests including local dignitaries, senior officials from the relevant Ministries including the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs , foreign Ambassadors based in Croatia, Friends of Malaysia and Malaysians residing in Croatia had attended the occassion. H.E. Mr. Nenad Stancic, Vice Speaker of The Croatian Parliament was the Guest of Honour.
The highlights of the occassion was a speech by H.E. Dato' Yean Yoke Heng, Ambassador of Malaysia with the theme 1Malaysia: Promises Fulfilled , the singing of the Negara Ku and the national anthem of Croatia, a video presentation on the tourism attractions in Malaysia in tandem with the slogan Malaysia Truly Asia and a lucky draw with the main prize being two return air tickets on Malaysia Airlines (MAS) to Kuala Lumpur and a week long tourism package contributed by Tourism Malaysia.
Favourite Malaysian delicacies like chicken satay with peanut sauce, " nasi himpit" and beef "serunding" were among the many local food served during the reception. The winner of the lucky draw was Mrs. Andrea Javor, Director of the Directorate for Extra European Bilateral Affairs and Eastern Partnership from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, who is in charge of the Malaysian Desk. Mr. David Raj, MAS Manager based in Frankfurt, presented the lucky winner with the tickets and tourism package. |
